pages 245 - +14p., full text

A novel quantitative model of a guin ea-pig ventricular myocyte has been designed with transverse-axial tubular system (TATS) included. This model displays long-term stability and closely reproduces experimental activityrelated changes in action potentials and io nic concentrations inside the cell and in the lumen of the TATS. It allows e xploration of species-specific functional consequences of the presence of the TATS in a biophysically realistic way.
